There are many perks to this new self-employed life. Being able to take a bath in the middle of the day. Swanning about in my dressing gown and not bothering to get dressed. Sitting with my feet up on the coffee table watching TV and eating Shreddies in the afternoon. Of course, I’m joking and have done NONE of those things…. (maybe…) Joking aside, whilst I’ve probably never worked so hard, I’m also all about looking after myself. And a luxury bathroom experience at home is very much part of that picture. I’m delighted to be collaborating with Deyongs to give our main bathroom a little bit of a refresh and indulge in some me-time.
Deyongs has an amazing history, established in 1846. I’m so thrilled to be working with such a pedigree brand which has clearly been doing something, or maybe several things, right all these years in order to still be thriving in a competitive environment. It was one of the first companies to import textiles from Hong Kong and India as far back as the 1960s and Deyongs is still in the original family who founded it. Now it’s the responsibility of 7th generation Daniel and Oliver who are at the helm, helping the brand to evolve and move with the 21st century.
Lucky old me was able to pick from the fabulous selection of products available online and I thought it was a great opportunity to update our towels. Now, I’m a bit of a towel snob. My biggest bugbear when we go away is to find teeny towels that you could barely dry a Barbie with. I need bath sheets, you know the massive soft fluffy ones that you can wrap yourself up in multiple times. Mainly because I’m a bit of a lazy post-shower person and tend to lounge around feeling all clean and cosy before getting dressed.
As our main bathroom is monochrome, I thought an injection of pink and grey would add that little pop of colour. My box of goodies contained the Cleopatra Egyptian Cotton pink bath sheet and hand towel, and the Cleopatra Egyptian Cotton light grey bath sheet and hand towel. These come from The Lyndon Company, one of the brands under the Deyongs parent umbrella. They are ALL about 100% Egyptian cotton which suits me down to the ground – part of the luxury of having a bath is knowing there is the dreamiest towel to clamber into. I’ve already put them through their washing paces and can confirm that they wash and tumble beautifully, making them even more soft and fluffy.
Last but by no means least, I love the styling of the towels. I can be a little bit fussy (no, really I hear you mutter) and the banding on a towel is something that I always pay attention to. These ones look so elegant without being too much. Our bathroom is fairly simple in terms of décor and I wanted towels to reflect that. As for now, that’s probably enough from me. I’m off to run another bath and lounge around in my beautiful new Deyongs towels.
Disclaimer: Thank you Deyongs for collaborating on this blog post. I received two bath sheets and two hand towels in return for a feature on the blog. I only work with brands that would work well in my home and I think you would enjoy. All words and images are my own unless otherwise stated.
