It’s a couple of weeks now since I started trialling Nutribuddy Breakfast shakes to kick start my morning. Being a little cynical, I wasn’t sure whether Nutribuddy would really work for me…so many memories of Slim Fast diets in the 1980’s! At the same time it’s difficult to get a balanced breakfast in the mornings. We’re told how important it is to kick-start our metabolisms but with most of us juggling family or rushing off to work, time is at a premium.
So now this has been my breakfast staple for a little while, what do I really think? Initially I missed actually chewing on something, normally breakfast is toast or porridge. The plus side is – and perhaps it’s psychological – it really does put a spring in your step to start the day with such a great kick of protein.
It’s quick and easy to throw together too, just mix three scoops of the shake with 300ml of your choice of milk. Ta-da! It means I can mix it up and then drink it either as I’m getting ready for work or take it with me and have at the office (normally though I wake up so hungry the idea of leaving the house without eating scares me!) Plus, obviously it’s suitable for vegans too since I mix my Nutribuddy with almond milk. Winning all round.
It’s difficult to say if alone the Nutribuddy shakes have contributed to any weight loss since that’s not the reason I wanted to trial it. I also exercise very regularly and eat pretty healthily in general. What I can say is that it’s a fantastic way to start the day if you’re worried about not getting the right nutrients. They also have an entire selection of different flavours and different products so pop over and take a little look. Definitely better than a bacon sandwich for breakfast 😉
