Being ever so slightly obsessed with interiors and trying to find the perfect pieces for our home, there’s nothing I love more than hunting out the latest designs. Swoon Editions are currently holding a pop-up featuring their beautiful collection at the Oxo Tower Wharf until May 21st and I was invited to their press launch last week to check out their latest pieces.
What marks the company out as being different from their competitors is that they produce items in very limited editions, sometimes only 10 of one particular item. Not only does this make them more exclusive but they can also manufacture new design-led furniture more frequently, giving them the edge over other brands who may only refresh seasonally.
At Swoon Editions, our mission is to create beautifully crafted furniture for distinctive homes. Without the cost of expensive stores or warehouse space we’re able to offer the best possible prices too. Launching new designs daily, in limited batches, we aim to help you create a truly unique home.
It was really interesting to have the opportunity to chat to some of the collection designers and hear where they take inspiration from and whether they’re ever surprised by something that’s either a runaway success or not as popular as they hoped it may be. There aren’t too many surprises however since they pay such close attention to trends and customer behaviour.
There are styles to suit all tastes at a very reasonable price point especially taking into consideration the limited edition nature of the company. They describe the design process as one where “When our designers begin their concepts, they have five key interior trends in mind – Deco, Scandi, Utility, Classic and Rustic – and their ideas evolve from there. The result? Innovative pieces that can be worked into any scheme to suit your taste, or mixed and matched for an eclectic interior that has your own personal stamp on it.”
Since Swoon Editions don’t normally have a physical space anywhere, you must get down to the pop-up if you can. There’s nothing quite like running your fingers across a plush velvet sofa and seeing the pieces in person to see just stunning they are.
Thank you to Swoon Editions for inviting me to the press launch of their pop-up. Image one and two courtesy of Swoon Editions.
