Elton John once famously disclosed he spent more than £290,000 on fresh flowers over a 20 month period. Well, I guess good for him since he has rather a lot of money. I too love fresh flowers in our home although have a slightly more limited budget. Happily the team at Prestige Flowers sent me a rather lovely bouquet recently. And I did pretend to be Elton John, albeit only for a moment or two.
Now, before you go all “flowers are dangerous for cats you know” on me, Boo is not the slightest bit interested in flowers. He has more important things to go like sleep for 23.59 hours a day. So flowers in our home are perfectly safe and we need them to mask all the rooms in various states of disarray.
Prestige Flowers are, of course, an online flower delivery service. You can order by 9pm for next day delivery and they offer flowers for every possible occasion you could think of. They also provide a huge range of hampers and gifts in case you have something to celebrate but flowers for whatever reason simply don’t cut it.
I was very fortunate to receive a mystery arrangement from their luxury collection. Scrolling through the beautiful assortments I’ve identified mine as the ‘Niagra’ bouquet by Haute Florist and oh it’s a beauty. It features avalanche roses cushioned with iris, thistle dashes, agapanthus and fragrant freesia.
It’s not uncommon for me to behave in a slightly child-like manner when gifts are delivered. Before I knew it the box was discarded, alongside the stylish bag and giftwrap that the flowers are delivered in so I don’t have pictures to show you. But the packaging is really very smart. And did I mention a small box of 4 little chocolate truffles too?
The bouquet is now separated out into one of our vintage-looking vases and a country-style jug. I’m so happy with how they look and keep transporting them around the house. They also still look very fresh after four days, and believe me when I say not all delivered flowers do. So it’s a thumbs up from me in case you’re on the hunt for luxury flowers for any occasion.

This is a beautiful bouquet ! I’d love to have fresh flowers everywhere all the time but reality is I am happy if I get one fortnightly. Oh my that is quite a huge flower budget, I wonder how much he spends on scented candles! 🙂

This is really timely as I have realised that purple flowers work well is so many rooms of my home! I got a £2 bunch of gladioli from the local tesco garage as a treat. A world away from Sir Elton!!!!!!!
