Who doesn’t love the chance to peep into a stylish home? I’m a little obsessed with looking to see how others decorate and find it so inspiring to see everything from shoestring makeovers to show-stopping luxe. Fortunately for us all, #Houzzof2018 is on at 19 Greek Street in Soho until January 31st. Taking over a five-storey townhouse, popular platform Houzz are showcasing predicted trends based on what actual people are searching for and talking about when it comes to home renovations.
Here’s what they say about the exciting pop-up space:
The Houzz team have combed through the most popular searches and images (there are a cool 15 million-plus on the site and app) to predict what we’ll all be doing to make our homes more comfortable, stylish and spacious in the near future.
If you love snooping around other people’s homes, you’re in for a treat. Based around a fictitious family, this townhouse has been designed from scratch by Houzz professionals and top interior design studio Run For The Hills, and is crammed full of inspiring details. From the forest greens slowly replacing ubiquitous grey, to the hot trend for modern craft and retro 1970s touches, the house offers an unmissable snapshot of where interiors are heading.
I popped to a preview day before it opened to the general public and basically decided I’d like to move in. The entire space is totally inspiring, from wall colours to textures to furniture and everything in between. I especially loved the concept of making the most of all living spaces. With the cost of home-owning spiralling in many areas, we have to get increasingly creative with a smaller footprint and so the ability to live-work is all important. Segmented living is key with the bedroom having a work space as well as a traditional dressing area.
With at least one million photos taken (ok, I may exaggerate slightly), here’s what you can see if you pop along either today or tomorrow. It’s open from 11am to 6pm.

It all looks lovely I like the mountain mural on the wall in the nursery. The only thing I’m not convinced about is the black kitchen, too dark for me personally.

I agree Claire, I’m not sure I could ever make dark interiors work in such an integral room X
The Houzz home is such a great idea, and I’ve loved seeing photos of it. Lots of inspiration!

It was so impressive to see all the ideas in situ, I’m hopeless at visualising things so it really works for me to look rond all the rooms (and I’m nosy π X
Oh wow I am very envious, I wish I had gone and seen it. So many beautiful ideas.

It was definitely worth seeing, hopefully all the blog posts about it will have done it justice π X
It was a great space wasn’t it? I could also have happily moved in, I was at the launch party and it was busy – too busy to really see the top floor, but so glad I went. Good to see a few posts on it too π

I think they’ve done such a great job of raising awareness of what other services they offer besides just a networking platform now with all the shoppable stuff too. It’s too tempting! X
What a gorgeous house, I’d love to move in too! That bed looks perfect, and the blue velvet chair is stunning

I love the look of the black bathroom fittings especially the heated towel rail. I must look them up. We need to revamp our upstairs bathroom but on a budget.
