It’s a good few months since I decorated the bedroom at Easter. But I’m still on the look out for all the accessories and finishing touches. Why does this part of a room project always seem to take the longest? I’m one step closer though with the arrival of the Apex Lamp from Habitat taking pride of place on the dressing table.
A couple of weeks ago, Habitat very kindly invited me to the Habitat Light Club – basically where the bottom of their Tottenham Court Road store becomes a nightclub for a couple of hours. Complete with DJ and cocktails too! The idea is to showcase the fabulous lighting collection and I went along with a couple of my workmates for company.
With some pretty jazzy light up cocktails and banging tunes (literally, the resident bongos drummer guy was ace), it always feels a bit cheeky to be in a store after hours. Like you’ve skived from school to break in and you shouldn’t be there. Fortunately though, Habitat through a great party and we were very definitely invited.
As part of the event, Habitat kindly gifted bloggers a lamp of our choice from a pre-selection. The Apex Lamp stood out straight away with its geometric style and copper fitting. Because I do love a bit of copper even though I know everyone else has moved on to gold and brass. Late to the party as always!
This corner of our bedroom and dressing table really needed some sort of lighting and the Apex Lamp works perfectly. It’s a stylish, statement piece without being completely over the top but also fits in with my fairly minimalist aesthetic. Habitat also provided one of the designer Plumen energy-saving bulbs to go in the lamp. Since the one I chose is see-through, the light bulb needs to do it justice and it does. What do you think?
Thank you so much to Habitat for inviting me to their event and gifting a lamp. I haven’t been asked to post on the blog but it’s too beautiful not to share!

Oh I love the lamp Lins! It’s barely there visually, which makes it look so cool, especially with its geometric shape.

You know I originally wasn’t quite sure where to put it but it looks so good here, definitely a permanent feature now X
Love the light! I was in Habitat last week but I must have missed this lamp it’s adorable.
That lamp really is stunning – so unusual! It’s difficult to get enough light around a dressing table isn’t it? Is that the Ikea dressing table? My daughters both have one in their bedrooms, it’s perfect.

I totally agree Suzanne, I find lighting really tricky but I love how this looks! And yes, it’s the famous IKEA dressing table, I love it! X
