3 Reasons To Consider Hair Extensions

If there is one thing you would change about yourself, what would it be? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big believer in loving ourselves, but I also have no objection with those little enhancements that can make us feel our best selves. Years ago I had my eyes lasered because I didn’t feel comfortable wearing glasses.

Now I’m in my almost mid-40s, I very definitely miss my thick and full hair I had as a teenager. 20-odd years of being vegetarian plus a chronic illness plus anaemia means that I often struggle to make my hair look its best and have all but given up. I’ve never tried hair extensions, but am amazed just how popular/common they seem to be on social media.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever given them a go (even just a clip in ponytail?) but here are 3 reasons to throw caution to the wind and get involved with hair extensions!

  1. They add volume and length

One of the biggest benefits of hair extensions is that they can totally change your hairstyle in minutes, without having to wait what can feel like years for your hair to grow out. I frequently go from past my shoulder length hair to a jaw-length bob and then have to wait an interminable amount of time for it to grow back.

Hair extensions can also add volume and thickness to natural hair, making it appear far lusher. This can be especially beneficial for those with slightly finer hair, as well as those who have experienced thinning hair or partial hair loss, for a wide range of medical reasons. As I mentioned earlier, this would be a huge benefit for me and as I realise through spending time online, more people use them than I ever knew before.

  1. They’re incredibly versatile

Hair extensions provide versatility and near-endless styling possibilities. With hair extensions, you can change your look in an instant, going from a short bob to flowing locks reminiscent of a fairytale. They come in a variety of textures, lengths, and colours, making it easy to find a set that will blend seamlessly with your natural hair type and colour.

This versatility also allows for endless styling possibilities, from long, flowing locks to shorter, more layered kinds of hairstyles. With hair extensions, you can experiment with different looks and hairstyles, without having to actually change your natural hair.

  1. They’re great for self-confidence

Hair extensions can definitely make you feel good about yourself – having beautiful, healthy-looking hair does wonders for your self-confidence. Hair extensions can give you the length and volume you desire, making you feel more attractive and confident.

Additionally, because they come in a variety of colours and textures, you can find a set that perfectly matches your natural hair, which can make you feel more confident about how natural the extensions look.

Like most beauty enhancements, hair extensions have come a long way and now look absolutely as natural as regular hair compared to a somewhat artificial appearance when they first became popular. They can add length, volume, and thickness to natural hair, provide versatility and endless styling possibilities, and can really add an extra boost to your self-confidence. Hair extensions are also incredibly easy to find, especially with the proliferation of online retailers like LullaBellz.

With the right kind of maintenance and care, hair extensions can last for quite a few months, giving you the long, wonderful hair you wanted, and maybe even the confidence you craved.

The best way to think of it is that hair extensions aren’t just a fashion accessory – they’re a way of exploring different styles, and increasing self-confidence without doing anything drastic or irreversible like a big haircut. I’ve definitely had my moments of wishing I hadn’t changed my hair so drastically when I have done in the past so maybe it’s finally time for me to experiment.
