Belle Plagne is one of the most popular ski resorts in the world. It’s part of the Paradiski area, which is linked with Les Arcs. The area provides visitors access to 425km of runs and 129 lifts. A new top lift, the Glacier gondola, ascends to one of the snowiest glaciers in the Alps.

An Alpine Village with Authentic Charm
Belle Plagne is a 2,050-metre-high, car-free, pedestrian-friendly village that ensures families can access a safe, easily traversable environment. It’s one of 11 villages, four of which have a traditional farming history, including the rustic Champagny-en-Vanoise, while the rest are purpose-built ski resorts.
The village’s height and location in the heart of La Plagne usually provide solid snow coverage, even in the late and early season, for budget-conscious travellers keen to avoid peak season prices. Tourists can stay in a range of accommodation built in traditional Savoyard style, with stone, wood, and lauze tiles.
Snow-Sure Skiing for All Ages and Abilities
Belle Plagne ski holidays offer the best of both worlds for families seeking challenges and gentle, relaxing slopes. With access to the Paradis area, families will have access to runs suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals. La Plagne is also home to a branch of Oxygene, a dedicated snowboard school for those looking for a new activity.
If it’s your first ski holiday, head to Buffalo Park for a Colorado-themed beginners’ area. There you’ll find a selection of picturesque beginner slopes and wide, forgiving blue runs for you and the kids to work on parallel turns. Those with more experience can tackle the Glacier de la Chiaupe’s (Bellecôte glacier) unpisted black runs, or the Emile Allais run.
Wellness and Relaxation for the Whole Family
After a day on the slopes, plenty of opportunities exist to unwind. The Deep Nature Baths and Spa, a 1500 m² facility dedicated to well-being, features a family area with outdoor pools, saunas, and salt grottos to reduce muscle soreness and tension.
For a different way to enjoy the mountain scenery, try snowshoeing. You’ll enjoy your surroundings at a slower pace and take great photos for your holiday album. Ice climbing is a more adventurous option on the 22m high Ice Tower Champagny en Vanoise by the entrance to the Vanoise National Park.
Après-Ski and Entertainment for Everyone
Bella Plange is the most lively of the area’s 11 villages. The Wild West-themed Le Saloon is open until 5 a.m., while La Tête Inn, a log cabin-themed bar, is a favourite for its happy hour and live music.
Try La Cheyenne Café, a Tex-Mex bar and restaurant serving hearty chilli con carne, fajitas, and grilled meats for dining options. The resort’s herbal tea rooms offer a more relaxed take on après, and are the perfect stop before La Mine in Plagne 1800.
