On Being Childfree – This Week

Hi everyone and thank you so much for stopping by, hoping for another story. Unfortunately in the run up to Christmas I’m not sure if we’ll be able to keep a weekly schedule going because people are busy with other activities and I’m only too aware how much time it can take to gather thoughts on these huge topics into a meaningful piece. Deciding to share my own story for public consumption was a really hard decision and of course I’m so glad I did but I totally appreciate it’s not an easy thing to do.

As I’ll hopefully be back next week with a new guest poster, just a couple of reminders and other useful information.

If you would like to share a story yourself, just drop me an email to booandmaddie22@gmail.com. This space is for anyone who can’t have children, anyone who has chosen not to, and parent/s of only children. The commonality between all 3 groups of people is that everyone will have faced the insensitive questioning, the judgement, the assumptions and so on. That’s why this is a created space for anyone in any of these scenarios rather than just one group or another.

I’ve also created a resource list of other communities/bloggers/groups talking about similar. I say there’s no such thing as too much support on this topic, so please pop over to the resource list and let me know if there’s anything useful to add. It will constantly be updating as I come across useful new sources.

And finally, in case any of you want to register and check out this recording, one of my lovely previous guest posters Katy of Chasing Creation is hosting a webinar on Sunday 10th November with guests titled ‘Recognizing and Navigating Childless Grief’. It would be too late for you to join live if you’re in the UK since it’s taking place evening time in North Carolina however if it may be of interest please do check it out afterwards. You can sign up via the link in Katy’s Insta bio.

Thank you so much as always for the support, I had an overwhelming response last week in particular to Nikki’s story about choosing to stop at one child, it seemed to resonate with so many of you.

Have a super Friday and lovely weekend and I’ll be back next week.
