Monday Catch Up #99

Festive Fun The Green Room

I can’t believe a whole month has passed since my last little happiness post. Back when it felt very firmly still autumn and Christmas was a long way off. Now the count down really is on isn’t it? I’m already feeling quite festive, I know you’ll say of course I should be since it is December after all. Normally though I come down with a huge case of the bah humbugs at the thought of goodwill to all men. Not this year though. Can you believe we even have a whopping FOUR weekends before we even get to Christmas? That in itself is a huge treat. Lots of time for mulled wine and gift-wrapping.

So what’s been going on? It’s been super busy and so much fun. From a mini weekend away to starting our Christmas decorations, I’ve had such a happy few weeks. Lots of pinching myself as always. Because this time of year more than ever we have to feel grateful. If all we have is a roof over our heads and food to eat, we are the lucky ones indeed. The rest of life, we have to make it ours, to live every moment. I’d like to think I do what I can…despite the day job of course 😉 Here in pictures is what the last month has been like,

A Weekend Trip To Tallinn

After this post, I need to start going through all our travel photos before I forget what we did. It was a blissful long weekend in this beautiful, compact city. The Christmas market is in full swing and we basically mulled wined our way round. We do have a strange habit of going away at the coldest times of year but it is worth it.

Making The Most Random Advent Calendar

As many blogging opportunities as I say yes to, there are a host which I say no to. When I was offered an evening at Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium to make an advent calendar for Boo, that was a ‘HELL YES’ moment. You can read all about it here.

Lunch at Spring, Somerset House

On one of the coldest days of the year so far, it felt very ironic to head off to Spring for a brand lunch. If you’ve never been to this stunning restaurant located at Somerset House, just GO. It is a foodie and Instagrammer’s dream. We were there as guests of Murmur Living who make a stunning range of Nordic-inspired homewares in neutrals, greys, pinks. The perfect way to spend a few hours.

Starting To Decorate

We still don’t have our Christmas Tree up yet and won’t for another couple of weekends. I have started decorating though, working on a collaboration with Cox & Cox which is basically the biggest dream come true. Their homewares are nothing short of stunning and now a little pocket of our living room is looking so beautiful. You can read all about it here.

Taking Time Out

I’ve had a lot of annual leave to use up lately before the year ends and when we came back from Tallinn I took the rest of the week off. It was BLISSFUL. Reading by the fire, catching up with friends, heading off to blogging events, painting – it’s been so much fun to just live life without having any work stresses. It gave me a little taste of what life must be like for people who don’t have to work and I LOVED it.

Planning The Future

There’s so much more to share, I could go on and on but needless to say, I feel so lucky and happy. There are at least ten times in every day when I offer a little thanks to no-one in particular. Living every moment, that’s what it’s about right?
