Monday Catch-Up #92

Workshop Living Brighton

Sometimes we have such a busy couple of days that it feels impossible to remember what happened earlier in the week. Work days are full and busy. Nothing much happens apart from walking to the station, going to the gym. How lucky we are to have work and to have a life that for the most part, we enjoy. Even just the small things. We’re alive, isn’t that a triumph given all the bad news lately?

Sitting in the back garden with autumn around the corner. It feels so tranquil, that smell in the early morning air. I love stopping to take a look around, think for a moment. This world is so uncertain. We need to find the things that make us happy.

Summer Evening Light

The start of the week was quiet but the end felt full on.

Brighton Daytripping

Not quite a day trip, but almost. Hotel brand ibis invited us to try out their new bed collection whilst watching open-air cinema on Brighton beach. Perfect blustery weather for snuggling under a duvet and watching La La Land. We spent the night at the city centre hotel before exploring on Friday. We rarely take time off together and just one day made the weekend feel so much longer. Plus, there is SO much food choice in Brighton for fussy weirdos like me. It’s amazing how much one person can eat in about 24 hours…

I can’t wait to share more on this adventure later in the week so stay tuned…definitely one of the more random blogging adventures but it was so fun.

Family Visits

We took Maddie for a little visit to what we jokingly refer to as her ‘country home’. My Mum lives in a tiny hamlet in Northamptonshire. You can breathe properly and escape the noise of the city. My brother and his family live fairly nearby so we had a Saturday pub lunch. Walking around very old churches and playing ‘football’ with my nearly two year old niece. We don’t see them very often (isn’t family complicated?) but I do want her to know who I am as she grows up. She is already so full of personality, the pretty dress will be only be worn if has the wellies too.

Wadenhoe Church

The end of the summer holidays are approaching and I’m looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend, a night out with one of my best friends (long overdue) and planning the next home project…watch this space and have a wonderful week.
